Mingfang Lu got her M.D. and master degree in Pharmacology from Fudan University, Shanghai Medical School. She then obtained her Ph.D. in Molecular Immunology from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center, USA after being trained in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Munford. She had her postdoctoral training and then became an instructor at UTSW. She was then recruited as a staff scientist at NIAID, NIH, USA. As an independent investigator at Fudan University, Shanghai Medical School, she has established her own lab. Her research focuses on the regulation of macrophage innate responses, macrophage metabolism, pulmonary and intestinal mucosal immunology, and the effects of inflammation on metabolic diseases. As the first and/or corresponding authors, she has published in Nat Immunol, J Exp Med (2), Cell Host Microbe, PloS Pathog (2), J Immunol (2) and other journals.
